Christmas markets in Germany

It´s Christmas time !
For me and many people it is the most beautiful time of the year.  Everywhere you can see beautiful, shining lights, christmas trees and of course christmas markets. Today i will tell you about christmas markets in Germany. Everyone of you surely know the most famous christmas markets in Berlin or Dresden. But do you know the Christkindlemarket in Nuremberg ? With almost 2 million visitors per year is one of the biggest christmas market in Germany. It starts every year on friday before the first sunday of advent and ends at the 24th of december.
Even if historics try to find out when took place the first market, they are not sure about it. There are many stories that it was between 1610 and 1639. But the first official list from the market is from 1737. The market is every year at the same place- at the main square in Nuremberg called "Hauptmarkt". Typical for the christkindlemarket are the red-white striped roofs of the shacks. There are about 180 wooden shacks every year.
In the center of the market you can see a christmas crib where the christmas stories are relating. And of course there are typical drinks and snacks which you can get at a german "Weihnachtsmarkt". For example: "Glühwein" (Mulled wine) or "bratwurst" the famous german grilled sausage. But also a lot of sweets such as fruits in chocolate or hot chocolate to drink. For everybody who has never been on a christmas market in Germany this one can be also interesting.  It´s cosy and you get that magical christmas atmosphere there.
Have you ever been there? And which ones do you recommend me to visit?
So have fun there and Merry Christmas everyone!

Who wants to fall in love with Scotland?

Hi guys!

As I wrote you last time, my last trip was organised to Scotland. It was my first time there and I am pretty sure that it wasn't the last one. I totally fall in love with the Edinburgh's views.
If you also want to visit Scotland, you have an opportunity to book your flighs from Poznań (and they aren't so expensive). After landing in Edinburgh, will start your amazing adventure!
You should begin your journey from walking through very nostalgic streets. The most popular is Vicotria's street which is characterised by its historical appeal and independence shops. Then, I recommend you to go to Edinburgh Castle because the sight from there is just incredible. Unfotunatelly, I couldn't enter to see how does it look inside because tickets for that day were unavailables (it is better to buy them online).
My third "must be" place to see is Arthur's Seat. You have to spend some time climbing to the top of hill but it is worthy The views from Scottish highlands are unusual.
If you like adrenaline and thrill of emotion, you should take part in ghost and vampire tour. I am not so brave and I didn't dare to do it so I can't share with you that experience. :(
After all, don't forget to relax in some of the tipical Scottish pubs and drink whisky or gin. You should also try their sweets- fudges of many tastes.

Have I encouraged you to visit Edinburgh? I really hope so!

It is beginning to look like Christmas

Hello everyone!

It is beginning to look like Christmas, don't you think? Have you already dived in festive warm atmosphere? Because I have!
Every year I'm trying to visit one Christmas Market in Europe. This time I decided to go to Scotland. I chose Edinburgh for my trip and I can honestly admit that it was the best choice I could make. Edinburgh impressed me also like a city (but about all the things you can see and do there I will write in another post).
This Christmas Market is located in the heart of the city and is open during 7 weeks (from November till January). It is definitely the most romantic Christmas Market I have ever seen. You can find there many traditional Christmas items, for example: handicrafts, glassballs or candles. Being there, you should also try traditional food: Scotch pie, and drink mulled wine, mulled beer or traditional Scoottish whisky. You should also have fun on amusement park and ride on the Big Wheel, or ride on the Star Flyer (which is nearly 60 meters high). In the end, I recommend you to go on Silent Light which is the spectacular street of light and silent disco. You can enjoy the time there singing and dancing under a spectacular lights synchronised to music on your headphones.

I am sure that you will fall in love with Edinburgh and feel the Christmas spirit there. Don't waste your time! Scotland is waiting for you! :)
