Valencia II

Hey everybody,

As I promised, today I will tell you more about my trip to the beautiful city Valencia. After the first day with the new district Ciudad de les arts and the awesome beach, I had the pleasure to discover the old town and city center of Valencia. Before I started my tour, I checked what I wanted to see. That's why I marked every highlight on Google Maps and linked them to an all day tour. Do you also plan your trip like that? I started with the beautiful Mercado de Colon- a Market hall with various cafes and shops. A must do in Valencia is to drink the famous local “Horxata”- very tasty refreshing drink made of nuts, something like a milkshake. Also, you have to order “Fartons”. That is something like thin and long biscuits with sugar on it. This “menu” is typical for Valencia and a great snack or even breakfast. After that, I went on to the central station. A huge old train station looking a little bit like a cathedral. Next to the central station there is the City hall land the Post building. Two very impressive old Spanish buildings with great architecture. Going on to the center there is the Placa de la Reina with the cathedral and the Basilica de la Mare de Deu dels Desemparats. Believe me, both are unreliable beautiful. In front of the Cathedral, there are cafes and bars so we made a break and had a lunch. When you go towards the park that is around the city center, you can see the old city towers. When you climb them up you have an amazing view around the city. So you supposed to go there but it is obviously up to you. Overall, I really recommend Valencia and definitely will go back there. I never thought that Valencia offer that much and I am positively shocked. If you don't know when to go there, May is perfect option! However, there is also a celebration of Las Fallas- the term refers to monuments (those Falles) burnt during the celebration. Usually, it takes place in March so if you don't know where to go next year and you have days off, I hope now you know! :)
Thank you for visiting and reading my blog and hopefully you will return to read more about my next trips around Europe and the world.

See you soon!

Valencia

Hello everyone,

Welcome back to my blog and thank you for sharing my travel stories with me.
Today I will tell you about my trip to Valencia. As you might know, I study Spanish Language, I am totally in love with Spain and try to visit every single part of this country. This year, first I decided to go to Valencia. I have never been there but I heard a lot about that place and I tried to read as much as I could before visiting it. And to be honest- everything was even better than I thought.
Firstly, in my opinion Valencia have 3 different parts: the “new district”, the old town and the relax zone with the beach. So the plan was to visit every part of Valencia on a different day. My hotel was nearly to the new district with the famous futuristic buildings called Ciudad de les Arts. It´s a complete new district including a big park which goes around the old town from the bioparc to the harbor, a lot of interesting buildings with great architecture and Oceanographic. We went through the park to visit the ciudad de les arts and the science museum. It is an interactive museum with a lot of great stuff to see and of course new experiences. I really learned there a lot to various topics such as Physics or History for example. The next goal we visited was the Oceanographic. An aquapark with many species of animals. Sharks, penguins, crocodiles, flamingos and even dolphins. We could also take part in a dolphins show. It was fun to see all those animals and the Aquapark is definitely worth to visit (especially if you travel with children). After that we had still time to go to the beach. It is located a little bit outside the center so we drove there by bus. The beach was amazing and the weather was wonderful! Magnificent and huge sandy beach is the best place to relax. After all the action at the first part of the day, it was good to chill there and enjoy that weather (because then in Poland it was cloudy and rainy).
Have a look at those beautiful pictures!

Next part of Brussels

Hello again,

Today I will tell you the next part of my trip to Brussels.
In the first part, I showed you the European district. Today I want to show you the old town and all the sightseeing highlight of Brussels.
We started with the Mini-Europe, which is situated in the old expo area, at the foot of the Atomium. It is a park where mini cities of all European countries are shown. You can discover almost all great sightseeing’s of Europe in an hour. Definitely worth it. Unfortunatelly, Poland wasn't shown favorably. Next to the expo area and Mini-Europe is the famous Atomium. It is a museum located on the Heysel Plateau. The top sphere includes a restaurant with panormaic view of Brussels. A nice place to take pictures in front of it and a typical sign of Brussels. This part of Brussels is located a little bit outside the city centre. After taking pictures in front of the Atomium we went to the center.  The famous “Grand Place” with the Cityhall and the Old town around is really nice. Very old and classic buildings and architecture and of course a lot of Belgian waffles and chocolates. You have to taste them! After a little break for those delicious Belgian snacks, we went through the little streets of the Old town to the “Palais”. On the way out of the old town you have a nice view above the whole city while you are walking the steps to the palais. Next to the palais is the Brussels City Park. A nice place to chill after an excited day of exploring Brussels.
Summarized I was positive surprised. I didn´t expect that Brussels had so much to offer. The old town, the European district and the old expo area are three totally different but very interesting and nice places in Brussels. Every European (or not only) should go there and see all of them.

I hope you enjoyed it and I cannot wait to tell you the next story of my travels across the world!
